I was having a difficult time coming up with a name for my Mini. I wanted it to be original yet have meaning. I settled on calling him Blue until I could come up with a satisfactory replacement. Not an original name at all, lol. At the time I was working at a Walgreens and the only enjoyable part was the ride there. There was one street in particular that was nice and curvy with one absolutely terrific curve. I always listened to music on the way to work, usually Pink Floyd. One day as I was going to work heading down my favorite road, the song "Breathe" came on. As I was going along, soaking in the music, a certain line in the song struck a chord with me. It was, "run, rabbit, run". I knew that it would be a fairly obscure reference that most people would not get, but I decided then and there that his name was now Rabbit. It was meaningful for me because of the Pink Floyd reference and my very first car was a VW Rabbit. And it was definitely original. It didn't matter to me if anyone else liked it, he was my Rabbit. We were itching to have lots of new adventures.

We did as many day trips as we could. Working retail made it hard as I frequently was scheduled to work on Saturday. Our first big Mini Event was Helenblitz 2015 in Helen, GA. I wasn't completely sure the trip was going to happen since it snowed in Helen a few days before the event was supposed to occur. Thankfully enough of the snow melted off the roads in time. There was still snow remaining in most of the grassy areas and made the surrounding areas particularly beautiful. This event covered 4 days with lots of activities and really fun runs. Each new adventure taught me more and more about my Rabbit and I gained confidence to stretch my comfort zone and fully test his ability. I was over the moon in love with Rabbit.
Checking out the roads before the arrival of most of the Helenblitz participants. Keeping up with a Countryman.
Beautiful snow covered landscape. Absolutely fantastic way to start a Mini Trip.
This is what Rabbit looked like after playing in the snow.
Lining up for the group photo at the winery. Rabbit had his spot next to Mini friend, Prince Edward.
Every drive and event attended increased my love for Rabbit. He made my days brighter when I was down and rekindled my love of travel. Exploring with other Mini enthusiasts can make a drive to anywhere an adventure. I had found my people, my Mini Village.
