My adventure started off unexpectedly. My husband and I were looking for a car that our middle son could use to commute to and from school.... or so I thought. We were in the car, driving to a car lot when my husband looked over at me and said, "We aren't going to look at a car for Taylor. We are going to look at a Mini for you."
To say I was shocked would be a huge understatement. My jaw hit the floor and I said, "Wait, what???"
Apparently he and his mother had been talking and thought it was a great idea to get me a convertible Mini Cooper and then Taylor could have the car I was currently driving. Sounded like a pretty sweet deal to me!!
We continued on the the car lot and looked at a 2010 Mini. It was very nice and a lot of fun to drive. Fran, my husband, told me he had looked at another Mini, even went as far as taking it to a good friend who is a mechanic to have it checked out. He suggested that I go the next day to take a look at it.
The next day arrives and I head out to look at the Mini. It was a 2005 S in cool blue with a blue top and navy blue interior, orange stitching on the seats. I was getting ready to take it out on a test drive. As i was putting the top down, the owner of the lot asked me if I could drive a stick. Oh yeah, not a problem.
I cranked up the Mini, pulled out onto Buford Highway, and by the time I shifted to 2nd gear I was sold. The music that this little auto made was heavenly!!! I wanted to take it home right then. I wasn't able to make that happen same day, put a few days later it was parked in the driveway. Every where I drove this little happiness creator, everyone smiled. Then I started looking for car clubs to see what sort of adventures I could get into. And so the adventure began.
